Poppy B. Humble
Poppy B. Humble is a 19 year old Australian with a passion for mythology that features heavily in their work. Poppy B. has an ongoing battle with depression and anxiety, observed the way the world seems to be falling apart, explored their sexual and gender identity and found respite within their writing. They sat their HSC during the COVID-19 pandemic, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Ancient History at university, hoping to spread their passion of the very distant past to others all around the globe.
“There was no doubt that curiosity had much to do with it, curiosity and the desire for new experiences; yet it was not a simple but rather a very complex passion.”
Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
Poppy B. enjoys expressing their-self and their experiences through their poetry that depicts the complexities of life, of being, from the lows of social anxiety, to the highs of honey-like love as told through the eyes of a queer teenager.
They are still trying to develop their writing style and find their place in the literary world, writing about whatever has inspired them that week. Don’t be too shocked if you start in a fantasy world with a young male protagonist and by the end of your day you find yourself looking in at a mid thirties woman leading a mafia.
Poetry, Prose, long-form or short-form. They hope to share it all with you.
